Coach Hedge and the Roundhouse Kick

I just found out that I can’t fight whale sharks and now this stupid Phorcys guy with his dumb sparkly shirt is trying to impress me with fireworks. I just met this guy and he already annoys me. I’d rather go fight one of those giant squid monsters in the other room. I think this guy’s done giving his lame speech, time for me to get away from him.

Now that the man was done talking, Keto started saying fascinating information about the monsters in the other room, like how long it takes a giant squid to digest its food.
“Finally something entertaining.” I said, hoping she would tell me more. She then smiled back happily and started explaining the aggressive behavior of a telekhine I asked her if she could show me the diagrams of the monsters hunting habitats.

Keto escorted me through a glass tube with water surrounding it on all sides. In the water were evil hippocampi. They were black horses with long fishlike tales and razor sharp teeth. Keto then proceeded to give me a lecture about their habitat and how they hunt. After she was done she immediately turned and walked through another hallway so I followed. The next tank was bigger and had lights on every side of the tank. In the corner of the tank there was a long serpent with red eyes swimming in circles. This beast was at least 70 feet long  and looked very dangerous. I asked Keto how I could kill one of them but she simply laughed and explained how only a god could kill it. She then escorted me to a long hallway that had the sign that read EXIT at the end.

As I started to push the door open I heard a large THUD. I was about to ask what monster it was but I saw Percy and Frank in the fish tank. At that moment I instantly knew it was a trap. Then my goat like reflexes kicked in and I kicked that woman right in the back of the head. She got knocked out cold. Then I looked up and did a perfect Chuck Norris roundhouse kick into the tank. Water rushed out of the tank like a fire hose. My hooves had saved the day once again.

The Illusion of Glory vs. Fighting for Revenge

My Brother Sam is Dead by James Lincoln Collier has the theme of the illusion of glory. The Patriot has a theme of fighting for revenge and freedom. In the Patriot Gabriel and Benjamin Martin were fighting to avenge Benjamin’s son. In My Brother Sam is Dead Tim’s brother Sam is staying in the war for the glory. The Patriot and My Brother Sam is Dead have many similarities and differences.

Benjamin Martin and Gabriel Martin want revenge. They are hunting for Colonel Tavington but on the way they are going to need to kill as many red coats as they can. Colonel Tavington has killed Anne and Thomas so Benjamin and Gabriel are on a mission to kill him and support the cause on the way.

Tim’s brother Sam is in the war. He could have returned home, but he chose to stay in the fight. Tim wants the glory of the war and he wants to keep killing red coats. Sam ended up in a huge battle and if he runs away from it he would lose all his glory, but if he stays he could die. Tim wants the lory of the war, but he also is fighting for his freedom.

My Brother Sam is Dead and The Patriot both have the theme of fighting for freedom. The only difference between the two is that one is fighting for revenge and the other is fighting for glory.
